We have stayed at a few hotels in Cockermouth, but somehow always overlooked The Manor House. The hotel has its own car park at the front of the building and a lovely beer garden. We arrived a little early, but this was not a problem. A friendly greeting from the owner and we were given room keys. The building is very well maintained and the rooms had everything you need for an overnight stay. The restaurant no longer provides evening meals, but there are many other places to eat nearby. There is a well stocked bar, which is very reasonably priced. We didnt try the cocktails on this visit, but will next time!Breakfast was beautiful. Fruit, cereal, good quality full cooked breakfast etc, with constant tea & coffee refils. The owners couldnt do enough to ensure we had a great visit.I fully understand why the hotel is usually full booked!Thank you, we will be returning soon!Justin & Gill - Justin B
My wife and I stayed at The Manor House while visiting The Lake District recently. We chose the right place!Great location, very walkable to everything in Cockermouth.Carol Ann and Eddie were gracious hosts, giving us ideas on local dining, and Eddie serving wonderful breakfasts. All areas were very clean. An added bonus was the bar/lounge area.We spent time there each day.Highly recommend staying here! - David H
Such a nice hotel - lovely staff, delicious food, great position for exploring the western Lakes. The rooms are all a bit different (it's an old building) but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It will always be our first choice when we're in the area. - Linda B
